I’ve been blogging about a while now about the Designers’ Website at my workplace. Our deadline to launch our website is today, but sadly we only have a coming soon page to brag about. Our initial plan was to use the Symfony PHP Framework to create our very own CMS, but all has changed now. We will be using WordPress as our CMS, and create plugins to handle the custom features we want to implement.
Everyone seems to agree that WordPress is indeed a great application and with our busy schedules we can’t really dedicate much of our time for a custom CMS. Hopefully everything will go well this coming weeks. I’ll be having a bunch of stuff to do for this site’s upcoming launch.
I definitely agree that WordPress is extremely flexible enough to do the hard work for you but easy enough for designers to code for/with it without feeling restricted. Can’t wait to see the new site! =)
Yeah, I also like WordPress, but I still am thinking of the advantages of creating our own CMS.
The functionality of the system will be better suited to our specific requirements and needs.
Im shocked that you suddenly changed your domain name, that’s why I couldn’t access your old one.
So what task are you in? design, development? Anyways, Good luck on the project.
I’m in the designing group. On a previous post, I said that I was assigned to be the leader of the design group. Haha. Now I should do my job a bit better since I’m the leader. :p
