At my workplace, one of our annual events is a sports festival. I am actually very excited, to be able to participate in a sports competition again. Since I just came 3rd place on badminton last year on our school’s sports festival though. This time, I gotta have a better ranking right?

Our master – Wayne, decided to create a poster for the festival in a “Challenge” way. If you’re familiar with the Wallpaper Challenges I’m having, this is the same concept just a poster though. There will be one winner, and that poster will be used for the festival. The winner will have chance to recreate the poster though, just using the same concept.

Here’s the poster I created. The fact that I’m not telling the company I’m working for, the logo is right in here. I don’t know if I should like this design or what. I don’t seem to hate it, but I can’t find myself liking this either.

oh yayy for sports <3 im sure you'll do fine this time :D

hmm i think the image on the bottom right doesn't blend in with the whole layout, i think that's probably it :D

The poster is good, I’m just troubled about the solid vector and the background.

Anyways, go kick some ass in your sport fest!

Yeah, me either. Those were done as a “filler”. I mean, with limited time, I couldn’t do anything better to fill up the empty space.
Btw, what’s wrong with the background? I couldn’t find a better texture back then. Hehe.

If that poster wins, I get the chance to recreate it and it will be used as the official poster. Hehe.

Though it’s quite bothersome to recreate that poster.

I really like the color scheme; bright but not blinding. =) The only thing that I could see getting changed is those gray spikes behind the silhouettes. It’s probably just me since usually I’m used to seeing spikes instead of abstract shapes. Abstract is good though, it moves you away from the conventional.

    • Charlotte says:

Yeah, I want them changed too. Those gray spikes were just created on the spur of the moment. Since the challenge was only one hour, and I needed something to cover up the empty space. Haha.
