It’s amazing on how many people work at call centers day and night. Today, my country Philippines has a lot of successful call centers. The call center business here is also continuously growing due to the low cost operational and labor costs. Philippines is considered as one of the countries that has a good accent in speaking English. A lot of people also want to work in call centers due to the high salary compared to being a normal employee in a business firm. Even a lot of my classmates in college ended up working in call centers.
But what interests me the most is on what system is going on call centers. Managing all those employees with different shifts, handling call times, and the number of hours each employee spent on answering calls. All those complex systems cannot be managed manually. I was thinking that they had a custom made software to handle all the time and call management of the employees, but there is a reliable and readily available hosted ACD to handle all those technical matters for the call center owners.
Call centers in the Philippines are taking in Billions now and they say by 2011 it will increase by another 15% thats staggering compared to any other industry, is it not?
Yeah. At least that’s good news since more job opportunities are present in the Philippines now, at least the unemployed number of people would be lessened even just a bit.
…call centers in my country are commonly confused with sex lines centers ;P My friend studies robotics and automatics engineering. Now he and his group mates prepare the basis for an motorway logistics center system (a system which operates the motorway enter fines, phone calls, trucks controls etc.). His previous job was to prepare such system for the mentioned sex-call-line
I remember it was very bitter
