Elusive Happiness

After a few weeks without wallpaper challenges held, we’re back again this year hoping to do better than last year.

Our challenger for this week was Katherine, another member of the sales team of our office. Her theme was quite a challenge:

Elusive Happiness

I came up with the idea of a lady eating chocolates. Since many girls complain about chocolates and its ingredients, but still end up happy after eating them.

This piece is using the “fast” vector style again, due to the one hour limit of the challenge. “Fast” vectoring seems like my home style now, I’m too comfortable in it, almost all of my previous challenges are vectored, and I can actually mount my concept in it with a simple style during the alloted time.

Mello on Death Note was supposed to be the character featured on this wallpaper, since he was my actual reference for this. But due to the time constraint of the challenge I ended up with this silhouette type lady, which I think gives more impact to the whole chocolate idea.

Anyway, I wish to use other styles in the future wallpaper challenges too. Having one style just seems to make me fed up.

My Dreamworld!

Wallpaper Challenge week # 18. Our challenger was Cielo – part of the sales team of the company, and her topic was:

Lazy Sunday

This is by far my most colorful submission. Featuring my chibi character used to portray myself, I’ve used this character on a few of my submissions, as well on the current design of ChanLu. Due to the one hour limit of creating the wallpaper, I am not satisfied with the outcome. There are no highlights and shadows on the character. The vectored character is too stiff, specially on the hair part. Colors used are not well thought of. And the concept is typical, but I guess this is one decent submission.

Kyuubi

Monday has passed, another wallpaper challenge. This week, Mae was our challenger. I really liked her topic, and I love the outcome of my wallpaper, but I don’t think my concept will suit her taste though. Her topic was:

With a smile…

My concept was to create an evil smile. I didn’t have much time, so I vectored an animal’s face that is already sinister looking on its own – a fox. After I finished creating the wallpaper, I realized it looks like Naruto’s Kyuubi. Created in just about 30 minutes I didn’t place any effects on this one, for I was going for a simplistic wallpaper. Let’s just say, I’m tired of my messy wallpapers all this time.
