WIO is the abbreviation of Charlotte’s Thesis. WIO is the web application she developed during her 4th year college as a requirement for her degree studies. WIO was considered as the Best Thesis for the that school year, 08-09.
What exactly is WIO?
WIO stands for Web-based Interactive Organizer with Mobile Support. It is an online organizer with added features for the convenience of the users.
WIO also applies the Getting Things Done method created by David Allen. Which allows users to collect tasks externally and be able to organize these tasks with many options.
The WIO features were developed upon these great needs of people today:
- Online Task Management
Project and task creation are made simple and easy. Tasks are created, accessed, viewed, and updated in real time over the web. Simplicity is the key, and WIO does not employ complicated services with complexities in hierarchy, access rights, graphs, and task descriptions. - User Interaction
WIO contains user’s tasks such as personal, family, business, academic, etc. All users of WIO can easily get organized into groups and teams and collaborate through a forum or discussion board. These can be teachers/students, managers/employees, developers/clients, housekeepers/kids, etc. - File Sharing
Users can make use of files and folders and share them with a group or team. Files and folders can be created, uploaded, updated, and moved easily. - Mobile Connectivity
WIO must be available from any desktop computer where there is an Internet connection. In addition to this, mobile clients can gain access through their mobile devices.

The WIO team decided to experiment on the development of WIO by using technologies unknown to them, thus while developing the web application it was considered as a training ground for them, and they studied and researched hard to use these softwares and applications.

Charlotte had a great help from her advisers Wayne, and Ma’am Gigi. Wayne is Charlotte’s boss at her workplace. He’s one of the most amazing people she met. He’s smart and a talented designer (he can still do more stuff than that). While Ma’am Gigi is her favorite teacher in school, she is a radical person, smart, unordinary and has an outgoing personality.
Together, the three of them help each other on making WIO a success.
